Lacquer Dou,the Warring States

Unearthed in the boat-coffin burial at the Business Street of Chengdu

Mouth diameter 41.5 cm, foot diameter 37.5 cm, overall height 23.8 cm

Wooden body. The surface is painted with black lacquer. The tabletop is mostly painted with complex vermilion patterns comprising lines and planes. The patterns on the outer wall of the tabletop resemble cicada. The ring foot is decorated with interlaced serpent patterns drawn with single vermilion and ochre lines.
