Made in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), unearthed in Sichuan Hotel in Chengdu, it is 5.2 cm wide, 3.2 cm thick, and 5.9 cm tall. During the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, snuff was introduced to China, and the snuffbox was gradually orientalized, giving rise to the snuff bottle emerging. Snuff bottles, made from different materials and integrating multiple technologies from both in and outside the country, is a fine piece of art. The artisan for this snuff bottle adopted agate and carved the mottle on both sides with a scene of a child walking dog and three tigers sporting respectively.
