Pottery Singing and Dancing Figurine

Pottery Singing and Dancing Figurine, the Eastern Han Dynasty,

Unearthed in the Han Dynasty tomb at Lijia Liangzi of Jintang County, Chengdu

Size: 60 cm high, 40 cm wide

The pottery figurine, with bare feet, sits on a round cushion and wears a headdress and a pair of pants. He leaves his upper body uncovered and lifts his shoulders. He holds a drum with his left hand and clenches his right fist, beating the drum with a mallet. He reaches out his right foot and curls his left foot, beaming with his face up. His dramatic expression and posture are comical and artistically appealing.
