This monument was constructed in Chengdu People’s Park by the Sichuan Railway Head Office in 1913 to commemorate the martyrs who died in the Sichuan Railway Protection Movement. Its design combines modern Western aesthetic concepts and local characteristics, and its four sides were engraved with characters denoting Monument to Martyrs Died in 1911 Railway Protection Movement by Wu Zhiying, Yan Kai, Zhao Xi, and Zhang Kuijie.
